There is a certain kind of magic in the air on Bainbridge Island during the autumn months. From the stunning foliage to the seasonal produce to community events, it’s the perfect transition from an action-packed summer into cozy harvest season. Take advantage of the last string of sunny days and make this a month to remember with our curated list of the top October events to keep you and your loved ones entertained this month.
1. Bainbridge Island Farmer’s Market
Shop local and find farm-fresh produce at the farmer’s market happening every Saturday now through the end of November. Pick out a beautiful bouquet to bring a little color into your home on gray rainy days or choose a specialty jam to experiment with in the kitchen.
2. Squash Hunt
From now until October 31 (on select dates), grab the kiddos—or go solo or with friends—and enjoy this scavenger hunt for gourds hosted at Bloedel Gardens. It’s a great excuse to get outdoors and try something out of the ordinary this season. Your mind will be blown by the variety in pumpkins!
3. Cider and Squash
Head back to Bloedel Gardens for even more festivities. Their Cider and Squash event on October 26 encourages costumes—so dress in your spooky best as you explore with a hot cup of cider in hand.
4. Courtyard Concerts
If you’re looking for something to do but want a break from the Halloween festivities, then catch a show at The Pavilion during the Fall Courtyard Concerts series happening on select dates throughout October. The line-up looks particularly exciting this year.
5. Trick-or-Treat Bash
If you’re hoping to knock out trick-or-treating early on in the day or just want to take the kiddos to story-time, check out the Trick-or-Treat bash at the Kitsap Regional Library. Songs, stories, crafts, and more will definitely be a fun way to kick off their Halloween!
